ALLAH DOES EXIST   
THREE QUESTIONS There was a young man who went overseas to study for a quite a long time.  When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious scholar or any expert who could answer his 3 Questions.  Finally, his parents were able to find a Muslim scholar. I will try my best, with the help of Allah (Subhanahu Wata’ala).  Scholar:  Are you sure? A lot of Professors and experts were not able to answer my questions.  Young Man:  I am one of Allah’s (SWT) slaves and Insha Allah (God Willing), I will be able to answer your Questions.  Scholar:  Who are you? Can you answer my Questions?  Young Man: Young Man Says:  I have 3 Questions:  Question # 1 Does God Exist? If so, show me his shape. Question # 2 What is Taqdeer (Fate)? Question # 3 If shaitan (Devil) was created from the fire, why at the end he will be thrown to hell that is also created from fire.  It certainly will not hurt him at all, since shaitan & the hell were created from Fire. Did God Think of this far?    Suddenly, the Scholar slapped the young man’s face very hard.  Young man (Felt Pain): why do you get angry at me? I cannot.  Young Man:  Show me the shape of the pain!  Scholar:  Yes.  Young Man:  So do you believe that pain exists?  Scholar:  Of course, I felt pain  Young Man:  How do you feel after I slapped you?   Scholar:  I really don’t understand.  Young Man:  I am not angry.  The slap is my answer to your questions.  Scholar: That is Taqdeer (fate) my second answer…my hand that I used to slap you, what is it created from?   Scholar:  No.  Young Man:  Did you ever think that you will get a slap from me today? Scholar:  No.  Young Man:  That is my first answer.  All of us feel God’s existence without being able to see His shape…Last night, did you dream that you will be slapped by me?  Scholar: That’s it.  This is my third answer, even though Shaitan (Devil) and also the hell were created from the fire, if Allah wants, the hell will become a very painful place for Shaitan  Scholar:  In pain.  Young Man:  How do you feel after I slapped you?  Scholar:  Flesh.  Young Man:  How about your face, what is it created from?  Scholar:  It is created from flesh.  Young Man: Allah said: “If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you.”    If you are not ashamed, pass this message on…only If you believe…  Yes, I love Allah, Allah is my fountain of Life and My Savior.  Allah keeps me going day & night.  Without Allah, I am no one, but with Allah, I can do everything.  Allah is my strength.   May HE help U to Succeed.. Ameen ALLAH DOES EXIST…

The word " Hamd" in the first Quranic chapter is commonly translated in English and other language to " Thanking". " Al hamd o lelahe rabil alamin".
Dr. Morteza Motahri says the word "Hamd" is unique to Arabic and if one wants to translate it to other language, It would take a combination of at least three words to cover it's meaning. He says :
Hamd = Worship ( " Parastesh" in Farsi) + Thanking ( " Sepas" in Farsi) +
Admiring ( " setayesh" in Farsi ).
 
When you say in your prayer, Al hamd o lelahe rabil alamin, you are basically trying to worship, thank and admire Allah.
There is a correct saying: " Hamd" is only for Allah. Some Muslims translate it to: Thanking is only for Allah. Subsequently they misinterpret by saying that therefore no one else should be thanked but Allah. This is very wrong. This
misinterpretation is against Islamic manners. One hadith says: IF YOU DO NOT THANK THE CREATURES FOR THEIR SERVICES YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO THANK THE CREATOR.
Yes Hamd is for Allah only but Hamd is more than thanking. It is very much advised in Islam to be grateful and thankful to people who help you.

   The Invocation of Shabaniyah   

My Lord, bestow Your blessings on Muhammad and his descendants; respond to
my prayer when I pray to You; listen to my call when I call You; and turn to
me when I make my submission to You in confidence. I have come running to
You and am standing before You imploring You in humility and hoping to get
the reward You have for me. You know what is in my heart, and You are aware
of what I need. You know my mind and are not unaware of my future and of my
present, of what I want to begin my speech with; of the request I would
utter, and of the hopes I have in regard to my ultimate lot.

My Lord, whatever You have destined for me up to tbe end of my life, whether
concerning the open aspect of my life or the hidden aspect of it, is bound
to come. What is to my advantage and what is to my disadvantage - all my
losses and gains are in Your hand, not in the hand of anybody else.

My Lord, if You deprive me, who else will provide me; and if You let me
down, who else will help me?

My Lord, I seek Your protection from Your anger and from earning Your
displeasure. If I am not fit for gaining Your Mercy, You are certainly fit
to be generous to me by virtue of Your Magnanimity.

My Lord, I see as if I am standing before You protected by my trust in You.
You said what befitted You and covered me with Your forgiveness.

My Lord, if You forgive me, then who is more suited than You to do that? If
the time of my death has come near and my deeds have not still brought me
close to You, I make this confession of my sins a means of approaching You.
I have been unjust to my soul for I have not looked after it. It will
certainly be doomed if You do not forgive it.

My Lord, You have always been kind to me during my life time. Therefore do
not cut off Your favour from me at the time of my death.

My Lord, how can lose the hope of Your looking kindly, in me after my death,
when you have always been good to me during my life.

My Lord, in my case do what befits You and bestow Your favour on me - a
sinner enwrapped in his ignorance.

My Lord, You have concealed many of my sins in this world. I am in a greater
need of their being conceded in the next. As You have not revealed my sins
even to any of Your pious bondmen, do not expose me on the Day of
Resurrection before everybody.

My Lord, Your generosity has expanded my aspiration, and Your forgiveness is
superior to my deeds. Therefore gladden my heart by allowing me to meet You
on the day You administer justice to Your bondmen.

My Lord, my apology to You is the apology of him who cannot afford his
apology being not accepted. Therefore accept my apology, You the Most
Magnanimous of those to whom the evildoers tender their apology.

My Lord, do not turn down my request; do not foil my desire; and do not cut
off my hope and expectation of You.

My Lord, if You had wanted to disgrace me, You would not have guided me; and
if You had wanted to expose my faults and vices, You would not have kept me
safe and sound.

My Lord, I do not think that You will turn down my request for that in
asking You for which I have spent my whole life.

My Lord, all praise is due to You, always and forever, growing not
diminishing, as You like and please.

My Lord, if You condemn me for my crimes, I will cling to Your forgiveness,
and if You hold me for my sins, I will cling to Your granting pardon. If You
haul me into the hell, I will tell its inmates that I love You.

My Lord, if my deeds are too small in relation to how I should obey You, my
aspirations are high enough as compared to what I should expect of You.

My Lord, how can I go away from You unsuccessful and disappointed, when I
had a high hope that You will be kind enough to send me away enjoying safety
and deliverance.

My Lord, I have wasted my life committing the crime of forgetting You and
played havoc with my youth, intoxicated with keeping myself away from You.

My Lord, I did not wake up when I was under a delusion about You and was
inclined to earn Your displeasure.

My Lord, I am Your bondman, son of Your bondman. I am standing before You,
trying to use Your own magnanimity as a means of approaching You.

My Lord, I am a bondman of Yours, I want to rid myself of the sins I used to
commit in Your presence because I lacked the sense of feeling ashamed that
You were looking at me. I request You to forgive me, because forgiveness is
a character-istic of Your Kindness.

My Lord, I was not strong enough to move away from Your disobedience, except
when You awakened me to Your love. I was exactly as You wanted me to be. I
am thankful to You for introducing me to Your Kindness and purging my heart
of the impurities of being inattentive to You.

My Lord, look upon me as the person whom You called and he responded to You,
whom You helped by using his ser-vices, and he obeyed You. You Near One, Who
is not far from one who is away from You. You Munificent, Who does not
withhold His reward from one who hopes for it.

My Lord, provide me with a heart, the passion of which may bring it near
You, with a tongue the truth of which may be submitted to You, and with a
vision the nature of which may bring it close to You.

My Lord, whoever gets acquainted with You, is not un-known; whoever takes
shelter under You, is not disappointed; and one to whom You turn, is not a
slave. One who follows Your path is enlightened; and one who takes refuge in
You, is saved.

My Lord, I have taken refuge in You. Therefore do not disappoint me of Your
Mercy and do not keep me secluded from Your Kindness.

My Lord, place me among Your friends in the position of one who hopes for an
increase in Your love.

My Lord, inspire me with a passionate love of remember-ing You so that I may
keep on remembering You, and by Your Holy Name and Pure Position cherish my
cheerful determination into a success.

My Lord, I invoke You to admit me to the place reserved for those who obey
You, and to attach me to the nice abode of those who enjoy Your good
pleasure. . .I can neither defend myself nor do I control what is
advantageous for me.

My Lord, I am Your powerless sinning slave and Your repentant bondman. So do
not make me one of those from whom You turn away Your face, and whom his
negligence has secluded from Your forgiveness.

My Lord, grant me complete severance of my relations with everything else
and total submission to You. Enlighten the eyes of our hearts with the light
of their looking at You to the extent that they penetrate the veils of light
and reach the Source of Grandeur, and let our souls get suspended by the
glory of Your sanctity.

My Lord, make me one of those whom You call and they respond; when You look
at and they are thunderstruck by Your majesty. You whisper to them secretly
and they work for You openly.

My Lord, I have not allowed my pessimistic despair to overcome my good
opinion about You, nor did I ever lose my hope of Your benevolence.

My Lord, if my errors have degraded me with You, You may forgive me in view
of my unqualified reliance on You.

My Lord, if my sins have made me unfit to receive Your tender affection, my
firm belief has reminded me of Your Compassion.

My Lord, if my disregard for preparations to meet You has put me to sleep,
my knowledge of Your kind bounties has awakened me.

My Lord, if Your severe punishment calls me to Hell, the abundance of Your
reward invites me to Paradise.

My Lord, I ask You and pray to You earnestly, I desire and request You to
show Your favour to Muhammad and his descendants, make me one of those who
always remember You and never violate the pledge they make to You, who do
not fail to show You their gratitude and do not take Your orders lightly.

My Lord, let me be attached to the Light of Your Majestic Glory, so that I
may know You alone, be away from others, and have a heart fearful of You and
an eye watchful of You. May Allah's blessing and peace be on Muhammad and
those of his descendants who are pure.

   Ali ebn'e Abe Talib (AS)   

He was) The brother of the Apostle of God and his paternal cousin, and his helper (wazir) in his affair, his son-in- law (being married) to his daughter, Fatima the chaste, mistress of the women of the universe. (The full name of) the Commander of the faithful is Ali ebn'e abi'talib ebn'e abd'ul'Muttalib ebn'e Hashim enb'e abd'Manaf. (He was) the Lord of the testamentary trustees of authority (wasiyyin), the best of blessing and peace be on him. His kunya was Abu al-Hasan.

He was born in the Sacred House (i.e. the Kaba) in Mecca on Friday, the thirteenth day of the month of Rajab, thirty years after the year of the Elephant (c.570). Nobody before or after him has ever been born in the House of God, the Most High. (It was a mark) of him being honored by God, the Most High, may His name be exalted, and of his position being dignified in its greatness.

His mother was Fatima, daughter of Asad b. Hashim b.Abd Manaf, may God be pleased with her. She was like a mother to the Apostle of God, may God bless him and his family, and he (the Apostle) was brought up under her care.

He was grateful for her kindness and she was among the first to believe in him and she emigrated with him in the group of the emigrants. When she died, the Prophet shrouded her with his own shirt in order to protect her from the insects of the earth, and he laid her to rest in her grave in order that, through that, she might be protected from (the crushing pressure of) the
narrow space within the grave. He dictated to her her last words (which were) the statement of the authority (wilaya) of her son, the Commander of the faithful, peace be on him, so that at the examination after burial, she would be able to reply with those words. He singled her out with this great favor because of her position with God, may He be magnified and exalted,and with him, peace be on him. The report of that is well known.

   Fatima (PBUH) after Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) death   

Fatimah (PBUH) was mournful after Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) death. Not only had she lost her father, but also the best creature and seal of the prophets. The one who had high moral virtues and was said to have good humour by Allah and the one by whom revelation ended. Moreover, his successor’s right was usurped and Islam was getting out of its correct way. Fatimah (PBUH) never hid her sorrow. Sometimes she went to Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) shrine and mourned there and sometimes to the shrines of Ohod martyrs and Hamzeh (PBUH), Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) uncle. Even when women of Medina asked the reason of her sorrow, she clearly noticed the death of Prophet (PBUH&HP) and usurpation His successor’s right.

It hadn’t passed much long from Prophet’s death that his recommendation and conveying Allah’s command on Ghadir, introducing Ali as Muslim’s ruler was forgotten and they gathered in a placed named Saghifah and chose one as their ruler and began to get people swear allegiance. Therefore some of the Muslim gathered in Fatimah’s house showing their objection to usurpation of governorship and ignoring Allah’s command appointing Ali as Muslim’s ruler. When Abubakr, who was chosen only by the people gathering in Saghifah got aware of this meeting, he sent Omar to Fatimah’s (PBUH) house in order to bring Imam Ali (PBUH) and the others to the mosque for swearing allegiance by force. So, Omar and some others went there carrying some fire. When he arrived there, Fatimah (PBUH) came behind the door and asked the reason for his coming. Omar answered to take Imam Ali (PBUH) and the others to mosque for swearing allegiance Fatimah (PBUH) prohibited them not to do this and reproached them. Therefore some of the people following Omar dispersed. At this time Omar threatened to put the house with all the people inside in fire knowing that Fatimah (PBUH) is inside. Then, some of the objectors exited the house and Omar fought them and broke some of their swords. But still Imam Ali (PBUH), Fatimah (PBUH) and their children were inside. Then Omar ordered some firewood and put the door in fire and entered the house by force and inspected the house with his followers and then carried Imam Ali (PBUH) by dragging, reluctantly, by force to the mosque. During these happenings, Fatimah (PBUH) was injured a lot and experienced great hardship but she didn’t calm down and went to the mosque because of her duty to defend her Imam of time and addressed Omar and Abubakr and the others and cautioned them of Allah’s anger and punishment, but they continued what they were doing.

Fatima (PBUH) was also oppressed on Fadak after the Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) death. Fadak is a village 165 kilometres from Medina, which has productive soil and a spring and lots of date palms. Fadak belonged to Jewish and they granted it to the Prophet (PBUH&HP) without any wars. So it was of “Anfal”, which belongs to Allah and Prophet (PBUH&HP) as the holy Quran says. After the verse “give your family their rights” came down the Prophet (PBUH&HP) granted Fadak to Fatima (PBUH) as Allah had ordered. Imam Ali (PBUH) and Fatimah (PBUH) had some agents in Fadak who worked there and sent the income for Fatimah (PBUH) after harvest. She gave the agents’ salary first and divided the remaining among the poor, although her living was as simple as possible. They sometimes granted their daily food and slept hungry, but considered the poor first and this was sincerely for Allah (as mentioned in the beginning of Dahr Surah). After the death of the Prophet (PBUH&HP), Abubakr imputed a narrative to the Prophet (PBUH&HP) saying that prophets bequeath nothing, and claimed that Prophet’s inheritance belonged to all Muslims. Fatima (PBUH) defended her right in two ways. First she introduced some people witnessing that Prophet (PBUH&HP) had granted Fadak to her when He was alive, and so Fadak was not an inheritance. Then, she made a resplendent speech containing deep meanings about Monotheism, Prophecy and Imamah, in Prophet’s mosque. She proved invalidity of Abubakr’s claim in this extremely eloquent and clear speech. She asked Abubakr: “Why do you contradict the holy Quran?” and then mentioned some Quran verses naming Soleyman (PBUH) as Davood’s (PBUH) heir or saying that Zakaria (PBUH) asked Allah for a heir of himself and Yaghoob’s family. Therefore, assuming that Prophet (PBUH&HP) hadn’t granted Fadak to Fatimah (PBUH) when he was alive, it belonged to Fatima (PBUH) after His death and the claim that prophets bequeath nothing and imputing it to the Prophet (PBUH&HP) is against the truth according to her proof. Because it is impossible that the Prophet (PBUH&HP) talks in contravention with Allah’s sayings, as Allah has insisted on this fact in the holy Quran many times. However, Fadak wasn’t returned to its real owner and was usurped. We should notice that Fatimah’s (PBUH) speech and her proof was so clear that nobody was doubtful and many of the denier had accepted it inwardly. Its reason is that Omar, the second caliph, returned Fadak to Imam Ali (PBUH) and Fatimah’s children after Islamic conquest was expanded and the government didn’t need Fadak’s income. But it was again usurped when Othman was caliph.

    Following the Iranian ambassador's official letter of objection to the U.S. forces in Iraq & to the international Red Cross he demanded to meet the hostages face to face .

    Iran's consular representative in Divanieh along with IRIB's representative in a meeting at the U.S. force commanding center demanded further information regarding the two men. American authorities stated the man have been arrested on the bases of their "doubtful conditions" and have been sent to an unknown location in Baghdad.

  • July 16th , 2003

    Iran's ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Haghighian, met with authorities at the site of the present Iraqi Foreign Ministry. the Iraqi authorities, following the ambassador's letter, announced their investigation into the matter and assured Iran of an answer as soon as possible.

 

  • Until now we have not recived any information from American Force in Iraq or any Iraqi authorities regarding the situation of the hostages.

    We are waiting for the clearing of this situation and we request the freedom of these documentary filmmakers.

   The Life of Hazrat Fatimah (PBUH)   

Muslims believe that Fatimah (PBUH) is the most superior woman through all the centuries and eras. This belief is inferred from Prophetic narratives (Although these narratives are different in words, they have the same meaning). In one of these statements (on which both Shiites and Sunnites agree) the Great Prophet (PBUH&HP) says: “Fatimah (PBUH) is the master of all the women of the worlds.” Although it is mentioned in the holy Quran that Mary (PBUH) is the best woman in the worlds and has high position and is considered to be chaste and continence and is one of the four greatest women, she was the best woman of her life’s period, but Fatimah’s (PBUH) superiority is not restricted to her life’s period and is history time. That is why [the] Prophet Mohammad (PBUH&HP) named her as the greatest women of all the women from the first to the last in other saying. Another point that can be inferred from these narratives is that because Fatimah (PBUH) is the greatest woman and no other has competence with her, knowing and recognizing all her life and every moment of her life is extremely valuable, as we can reach high spiritual states by deliberating it. Furthermore, by referring to the holy Quran we find out that several verses are descended to state her position, namely Tathir verse, Mobaheleh verse, the beginning verses of Dahr Surah, Kothar Surah, Eita e-Hagh-e-Zelghorba verse, … (These verses will be discussed in other articles). In this article, we discuss her life and personality briefly.

Names, titles and nicknames

Her name is Fatimah (PBUH) and her other names are: Zahra, Seddigheh, Tahereh, Mobarakeh, Batool, Razieh and Marzieh. The word Fatimah means separated and she is named Fatimah (PBUH) because her followers are separated from the Hell because of her. Zahra means luminous. Imam Sadegh (PBUH) (the sixth Imam) said: “When Fatimah (PBUH) prayed, she shined for the heavens as the stars shine for people on earth”. Seddighah means someone who says nothing except the truth. Tahereh means pure and clean, Mobarakeh means full of favour and blessing Batool means separated from uncleanness and Razieh means satisfied with Allah’s fate and destiny and Marzieh means laudable. We can name Ensieh (heavenly lady), Hanieh (sympathetic), Shahideh (martyr), Afifeh (chaste), Sabereh (patient), Alemeh (learned), Mazloomeh (oppressed), Masoomeh (infallible), Umm al-Hassan (mother of Hassan (PBUH)), Umm al-Husain (mother of Husain (PBUH)), Umm al-A’emmeh (mother of Imams) and Umm Abiha as her titles. Umm Abiha means mother of her father and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH&HP) has given her this title and this shows that Fatimah (PBUH) treated Prophet Mohammad (PBUH&HP) as his mother. This fact was proved throughout the history as she cured her father during the wars and when she was at home and many other cases.

As we said, her father was Mohammad–bin-Abdullah (PBUH&HP)-the Great Prophet (PBUH&HP) of Islam, the last prophet and the best creature. Her mother was Khadijeh bent Khuavlid, one of the richest women of Ghoraish, who spent all her wealth on propagating Islam and did not even have a shroud when she died. She was so famous for her chastity that people called her Tahereh (pure) before Islam. She was the first woman who converted to Islam.

Her birth

Fatimah (PBUH) was born on 20th of Jamadi al–Thani, five years after the appointment of the Prophet (PBUH&HP), in Mecca. When she was born, she started talking with divine power and announced that: “There is no god except Allah, my father is the messenger of Allah and the master of the prophets, my husband is the master of successors and my two sons are the master of grandchildren”. Most of the Shiah and some of the Sonny commentators such as Fakhr-e-Razi express that the first verse of Kothar Surah refers to Fatimah (PBUH) and have known her as Kowthar (extreme blessing) and the reason for maintenance and spread of [the] Prophet’s progeny. The last verse of Kothar Surah proves this as Allah tells the Prophet (PBUH&HP): “Your enemy will be without progeny”.

Moral virtues

Fatimah (PBUH) had high moral virtues and her life is full of spiritual behaviour. We explain two of them below noticing that these are only a very little part of her moral virtues:

     1. Jaber ibn Abdullah al-Ansari, the Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) companion, says that a poor emigrant (Mohajer) came to the Prophet (PBUH&HP) and asked for help. The Prophet (PBUH&HP) answered: “I do not have anything. Go to my daughter whose house is beside mine”. Then Bilal, the Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) muezzin, guided him. He went to Fatimah’s (PBUH) house and said: “Peace be upon you, O! The family of the Prophet (PBUH&HP)” and asked for help. When Fatimah (PBUH) got aware of his poverty, although she and her father and husband did not have anything to eat for 3 days, she brought out the necklace which Hamzeh’s (PBUH) son -her cousin- had presented her and told the man: “Take this and sell it. I hope that Allah gives you better than this”. The man took the necklace and went to the Prophet (PBUH&HP) and described what had happened. The Prophet (PBUH&HP) cried and prayed for him. Ammar-e-Yaser (the Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) companion) stood up and after getting permission, bought the necklace instead of giving him food, cloth, an animal and cost of travelling. The Prophet (PBUH&HP) asked the man: “Are you satisfied?” The man felt ashamed and thanked. Ammar put the necklace in a Yemeni cloth and perfumed it and dedicated it to the Prophet (PBUH&HP) with his slave. The slave came to the Prophet (PBUH&HP) and told the story. The Prophet (PBUH&HP) offered the necklace and the slave to Fatimah (PBUH). The slave came to Fatimah (PBUH). She took the necklace and let the slave free. He smiled and when he was asked for the reason, he answered: “What a blessed necklace! It fed a hungry, covered a naked, made a pedestrian have an animal, made someone free from want, let a slave free and finally returned to its owner”.

     2. Prophet (PBUH&HP) bought Fatimah (PBUH) a new dress for her marriage ceremony and she owned a patchy dress. A poor man came to her house and asked for a used cloth. Fatimah (PBUH) decided to give him the old dress as he had asked but remembered the verse: “You never attain to righteousness until you spend out of what you like”. So she gave him the new dress.

Her marriage

Fatimah (PBUH) had many suitors. Omar and Abubakr asked for her hand in marriage. The Prophet (PBUH&HP) replied: “Allah has her authority“. Anas ibn Malek says that Othman and Abd al-Rahman ibn Ouf did the same and volunteered to pay a high marriage portion. At that time, Gabriel descended to Prophet (PBUH&HP) and said:” Mohammad (PBUH&HP)! Allah sends regards and orders: Marry Fatimah (PBUH) to Ali (PBUH).” Imam Ali (PBUH) asked for Fatima’s (PBUH) hand in marriage and Prophet (PBUH&HP) agreed on this marriage according to divine will. It is mentioned in the narratives that He said: ”If Ali (PBUH) didn’t exist, there would be no mate for Fatimah (PBUH)”.Fatimah (PBUH) had a little marriage portion (against the pre-Islamic traditions that dignitaries had high marriage portion, in fact Fatima’s (PBUH) marriage portion was beyond money and she had high spiritual marriage portion as Prophet (PBUH&HP) has said). They had 5 children: Hassan (PBUH), Husain (PBUH), Zeinab (PBUH), Om-al-Kolthum and Mohsen (PBUH) (who miscarried in the happenings after Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) death). Imam Hassan (PBUH) and Imam Husain (PBUH), who are trained by such mother, are of the 12 Imams and the other 9 (except Imam Ali (PBUH) and Imam Hassan (PBUH)) are of Imam Husain’s (PBUH) progeny and are related to Prophet (PBUH&HP) by Fatimah (PBUH) (like Jesus (PBUH) who is related to Abraham (PBUH) by his mother and this is mentioned in the holy Quran). So we call her Om-al-A’emmah (Mother of Imams).Zeinab, her older daughter, was a learned and chaste and pious woman. She declared Imam Husain’s (PBUH) rising after him so property that people opposed Yazid’s oppressions several times and many risings shaped up and Yazid’s throne was to be overthrown. We can obtain that she never quit worshipping even during the worst conditions and this was based on her knowing of Allah. Om-al-Kolthum, also trained by Fatimah (PBUH), was an honourable, wise and eloquent woman who was with Zeinab (PBUH) after Ashoora and had a principle role in awaking people.

Fatimah (PBUH) at home

Fatimah (PBUH), with all her virtues, was a good wife for Imam Ali (PBUH). It has been narrated that Imam Ali’s (PBUH) sadness and grief removed whenever he looked at Fatimah (PBUH). She never asked him for something that he couldn’t afford. It is worthy to find out their matrimonial relation from Imam Ali’s (PBUH) words as he named Fatimah (PBUH) the best woman and proud of her and said:” I swear to Allah that I never made her angry and never ordered her to do something she didn’t like and she also never made me angry  and never disobeyed me.”

Her dignity and knowledge

Although Fatimah (PBUH) is not an Imam, but her dignity and position among the Muslims and specially Shiites is higher and being Imam Ali’s (PBUH) wife certifies this. To understand how knowledgeable she was, it is worthy to read Fadakieh sermon, in which she says firm sentences on Monotheism, declares her knowing of Prophet (PBUH&HP) and explains Imamah briefly. This sermon, including her argumentation from the holy Quran and expressing the reason for establishing religious laws, proves her knowledge to be revelational (a part of the sermon will come at the end of this article). Another reason to prove her high knowledge from Islam history is that some woman and even some men of Medina came to ask her about their religious problems.

Infallibility

To prove her infallibility and her immunity of sins and even mistakes and faults, it is sufficient to refer to Tathir verse. To avoid elongation, we only mention that her infallibility is proved as Prophet (PBUH&HP) and other Imams’ and advise you to see the related article.

Fatima’s (PBUH) magnificence in Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) words

         Prophet (PBUH&HP) praised Fatimah (PBUH) frequently.  He said:” Her father is sacrificed for her” a lot and sometimes bended and kissed her hand. He bid farewell to her as the last person before going to a journey and visited her first after returning. Most of the narrators and Muslim of all schools with any belief have narrated this Prophetic statement:” Fatimah (PBUH) is apart of me. Anyone who annoys her has annoyed me.” On the other hand, the holy Quran states that Prophet (PBUH&HP) never says something with carnal desire and all his sayings are revelational, so we obtain that this praising Fatima (PBUH) has a reason beyond emotions of a father and daughter. Prophet (PBUH&HP) pointed out this fact himself and told the cavillers:” Allah has ordered me to act like that”. Or said:” I savoir smell of heaven from her.”

         From another aspect, if we consider the Prophetic narratives and the holy Quran together, we will find our that anyone who annoys Prophet (PBUH&HP) will have a painful chastisement, as the verse:” Anyone who annoys Prophet (PBUH&HP), will be away of Allah’s compassion and will have a debasing chastisement.” So, it is declared that Fatimah’s (PBUH) consent and satisfaction is  Allah’s consent and satisfaction and her anger is Allah’s anger, saying precisely, she is the symbol of Allah’s consent and anger, because it is impossible that someone does something annoying Fatimah and so annoys Prophet and deserves divine punishment, but Allah is pleased with him. Another point that is obtained considering this narrative and verses of the holy Quran is that Fatima (PBUH) is satisfied and becomes consent only by passing the truth way and she becomes angry only for deviating from the truth way, and carnal desires and emotions are not determinant in her consent and anger, because that would be against Allah’s justice to punish someone on one’s desires or emotions.

Fatima (PBUH) after Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) death

Fatimah (PBUH) was mournful after Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) death. Not only had she lost her father, but also the best creature and seal of the prophets. The one who had high moral virtues and was said to have good humour by Allah and the one by whom revelation ended. Moreover, his successor’s right was usurped and Islam was getting out of its correct way. Fatimah (PBUH) never hid her sorrow. Sometimes she went to Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) shrine and mourned there and sometimes to the shrines of Ohod martyrs and Hamzeh (PBUH), Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) uncle. Even when women of Medina asked the reason of her sorrow, she clearly noticed the death of Prophet (PBUH&HP) and usurpation His successor’s right.

It hadn’t passed much long from Prophet’s death that his recommendation and conveying Allah’s command on Ghadir, introducing Ali as Muslim’s ruler was forgotten and they gathered in a placed named Saghifah and chose one as their ruler and began to get people swear allegiance. Therefore some of the Muslim gathered in Fatimah’s house showing their objection to usurpation of governorship and ignoring Allah’s command appointing Ali as Muslim’s ruler. When Abubakr, who was chosen only by the people gathering in Saghifah got aware of this meeting, he sent Omar to Fatimah’s (PBUH) house in order to bring Imam Ali (PBUH) and the others to the mosque for swearing allegiance by force. So, Omar and some others went there carrying some fire. When he arrived there, Fatimah (PBUH) came behind the door and asked the reason for his coming. Omar answered to take Imam Ali (PBUH) and the others to mosque for swearing allegiance Fatimah (PBUH) prohibited them not to do this and reproached them. Therefore some of the people following Omar dispersed. At this time Omar threatened to put the house with all the people inside in fire knowing that Fatimah (PBUH) is inside. Then, some of the objectors exited the house and Omar fought them and broke some of their swords. But still Imam Ali (PBUH), Fatimah (PBUH) and their children were inside. Then Omar ordered some firewood and put the door in fire and entered the house by force and inspected the house with his followers and then carried Imam Ali (PBUH) by dragging, reluctantly, by force to the mosque. During these happenings, Fatimah (PBUH) was injured a lot and experienced great hardship but she didn’t calm down and went to the mosque because of her duty to defend her Imam of time and addressed Omar and Abubakr and the others and cautioned them of Allah’s anger and punishment, but they continued what they were doing.

Fatima (PBUH) was also oppressed on Fadak after the Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) death. Fadak is a village 165 kilometres from Medina, which has productive soil and a spring and lots of date palms. Fadak belonged to Jewish and they granted it to the Prophet (PBUH&HP) without any wars. So it was of “Anfal”, which belongs to Allah and Prophet (PBUH&HP) as the holy Quran says. After the verse “give your family their rights” came down the Prophet (PBUH&HP) granted Fadak to Fatima (PBUH) as Allah had ordered. Imam Ali (PBUH) and Fatimah (PBUH) had some agents in Fadak who worked there and sent the income for Fatimah (PBUH) after harvest. She gave the agents’ salary first and divided the remaining among the poor, although her living was as simple as possible. They sometimes granted their daily food and slept hungry, but considered the poor first and this was sincerely for Allah (as mentioned in the beginning of Dahr Surah). After the death of the Prophet (PBUH&HP), Abubakr imputed a narrative to the Prophet (PBUH&HP) saying that prophets bequeath nothing, and claimed that Prophet’s inheritance belonged to all Muslims. Fatima (PBUH) defended her right in two ways. First she introduced some people witnessing that Prophet (PBUH&HP) had granted Fadak to her when He was alive, and so Fadak was not an inheritance. Then, she made a resplendent speech containing deep meanings about Monotheism, Prophecy and Imamah, in Prophet’s mosque. She proved invalidity of Abubakr’s claim in this extremely eloquent and clear speech. She asked Abubakr: “Why do you contradict the holy Quran?” and then mentioned some Quran verses naming Soleyman (PBUH) as Davood’s (PBUH) heir or saying that Zakaria (PBUH) asked Allah for a heir of himself and Yaghoob’s family. Therefore, assuming that Prophet (PBUH&HP) hadn’t granted Fadak to Fatimah (PBUH) when he was alive, it belonged to Fatima (PBUH) after His death and the claim that prophets bequeath nothing and imputing it to the Prophet (PBUH&HP) is against the truth according to her proof. Because it is impossible that the Prophet (PBUH&HP) talks in contravention with Allah’s sayings, as Allah has insisted on this fact in the holy Quran many times. However, Fadak wasn’t returned to its real owner and was usurped. We should notice that Fatimah’s (PBUH) speech and her proof was so clear that nobody was doubtful and many of the denier had accepted it inwardly. Its reason is that Omar, the second caliph, returned Fadak to Imam Ali (PBUH) and Fatimah’s children after Islamic conquest was expanded and the government didn’t need Fadak’s income. But it was again usurped when Othman was caliph.

Fatimah’s (PBUH) illness and visiting her    

Finally, Fatimah (PBUH) became sick as she was injured terribly in the attack to her home. Sometimes she got up with pains and did the housework, or sometimes went to Prophet’s shrine or to Hamzeh’s and other Ohod martyrs’ shrine with her children and told out her grievances there. On one of these days the emigrants’ (Mohajer) and helpers’ (Ansar) wives, who were informed of her illness, visited Fatimah (PBUH). In this visit Fatimah (PBUH) expressed her dissatisfaction with usurping caliphate and commentated the people who kept quiet about ignoring their divine orders and Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) command about Imam Ali (PBUH) and cautioned them of the result of this happenings and Islam’s deviation from its right path and mentioned the blessing which could have been given to them as a result of accomplish of their religious orders and obeying Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) real successor.

It was in these days that Omar and Abubakr went to visit Fatimah (PBUH). Although Fatimah (PBUH) rejected them and didn’t let them in at first, they finally came to her bed. Then, Fatimah (PBUH) reminded them Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) statement:” Anyone who makes Fatimah (PBUH) angry has made me angry and one who pleases her has pleased me.” They confirmed that Prophet (PBUH&HP) had said such a thing. Then, she called Allah and angels to witness that they (Abubakr and Omar) had made her angry and never pleased her and she would certainly complain to the Prophet (PBUH&HP) of them.

Her will

One day, when she still sick, she called Imam Ali (PBUH) and wanted to be the executer of her will and commanded by will to wash her body at night and shroud her at night and bury her at night and nobody of the people who had oppressed her shouldn’t be present at the burying and saying prayer.

Martyrdom

It was third of Jamadi al-Thani, year eleven after Hijrah. Fatimah (PBUH) asked some water and washed her body and performed ablution with it. Then she wore a new cloth and lied in bed and put her hand under her cheek and said: “I will die now.” And then she was martyred as a result of hard blows and injuries. At that time, she was only 18 (according to common words) and she had been alive only 95 days after Prophet’s death (according to common words).

She passed away being angry with Abubakr and Omar as Sonny’s most reliable books and Shiah’s greatest books mention. She did not talk to them at the ending of her life and naturally Abubakr’s regret about attacking Fatimah’s (PBUH) home when he was dying was useless.

Performing her ablutions and burying her

When people of Medina realized Fatimah’s (PBUH) martyrdom, they gathered in front of her house and waited for the burying ceremony. But it was announced that the ceremony was delayed. At night, when all people were asleep, Imam Ali (PBUH) started to wash Fatimah’s (PBUH) body and shroud her, in absence of the people, who had oppressed her greatly, according to her will. When ablutions was finished, he told Imam Hassan (PBUH) and Imam Husain (PBUH) (Who were only two little children at that time) to call some of Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) real companions whom Fatimah (PBUH) was satisfied with, to participate in the burying ceremony. (They were not more than 7 as it has been narrated). After they arrived; he said prayers and then buried her while his children were sad and were secretly crying for losing their other. When the burying ceremony ended, he turned to Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) shrine and said:

"Regards to you, O! The messenger of Allah! From me and your daughter, who has reposed besides you, and has joined you within a little time. O Prophet (PBUH&HP)! I have lost my patience in separation from your beloved and I have lost my self-control. We are from Allah and will return to him. Your daughter will inform you how she was oppressed by your community. Ask her what has happened, because it hasn't passed a lot and you haven't been forgotten yet."

Today, after passing many years, still her shrine is hidden and nobody knows where it is located. Muslims, and specially Shiites, wait for Imam Mahdi’s (PBUH) reappearance. He is the Saviour and is the eleventh child of Fatimah’s (PBUH) progeny. She will show us his mother's shrine and will eradicate oppression in the world.

Her sayings

Fatimah (PBUH) has left many sayings. Some of them are narrated directly from her which indicate her great knowledge and high position. Some others are narrated by the Prophet (PBUH&HP) which indicates their close relationship and her high understanding and intelligence. We mention two of the directly narrated sayings here briefly:

     1-If someone sends his pure prayer up to Allah, Allah will send down best welfare to him.

     2-Allah has obligated faith to make you clean of polytheism, saying prayers to make you clean of haughtiness, alms to make your spirits clear and increase your sustenance, fasting to maintain your sincerity, Hadj to stand your religion, justice to strengthen your hearts, obeying us for your community's order and comfort, our governing to prevent separation, Jihad for Islam's splendour, patience to help you get eligible for reward, calling people to goodness for everybody's welfare, being generous to parents to avoid his anger, union of kindred to increase the population, retaliation to save bloods, vowing to be exposed to Allah's forgiveness, has made bankruptcy the result of using short weights, and has forbidden drinking wine to keep you away from uncleanness, Ghazf (false accusation of intercourse) to avoid imprecation and curse and stealing for remaining chaste. Allah has forbidden polytheism so that people be sincere in their obedience to Allah .So "Fear Allah as much as He deserves be pious and don't die other than you are Muslim." Obey Allah in his obligations and prohibited things, because" Only aware people fear Allah".

   Hazarath Imam Ali Khamenei   
Tehran, May 19 - Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei here Monday said Muslims around the world were waking up to resurrect their lost glory, triggering a flurry of fear among the enemies, especially US, which he described 'evil'.

"In spite of the Islamic world's backwardness in the past, a massive movement of Islamic awakening and return to Islamic principles which are the guide of Muslims to glory and identity, has started," he told a conference on Islamic unity which coincides with the birth anniversary of prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).

"This awakening has caused fear and confusion among Islam's enemies," he said adding the movement is relentlessly spreading in the face of the world haughty's propaganda hype and use of brute force.

Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the ongoing atrocities of the Zionist Israeli regime on the Palestinian lands as well as developments in Iraq in the wake of the US-led invasion.

"Atrocities in Palestine and Iraqi developments are a historical and political laboratory before the eyes of the Islamic Ummah who must take lessons from them. "

America is backing the Zionist regime's crimes under the slogans of democracy and freedom and depriving the Iraqi people from their legitimate rights," he said.
The Supreme Leader said Washington's support for Saddam Hussein during Iraq's war against Iran between 1980 and 1988 was mainly aimed at confronting the Islamic Republic and checking the spread of Islamic awareness.

Ayatollah Khamenei slammed Washington for invading Iraq under the pretext that US sought to destroy that country's weapons of mass destruction.
"Now one fundamental question to ask is who gave chemical and other advanced weapons to Saddam and what their objectives were in arming Saddam's regime with these weapons," he said.

The Supreme Leader said the most important duty of Islamic thinkers, intelligentsia and politicians was to strengthen Islamic awareness among the people and the youth.

"Unfortunately the Islamic Ummah, because of having become alienated with genuine Islam and internal differences as well as the rule of idolatrous governments on them, have not achieved the objective projected by the Prophet of Islam," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"The only path for the Islamic world to restore their real glory and identity is to implement the principles and teachings of genuine Islam," he added.
He also urged Muslims to make a distinction between the genuine Islam and the one promoted by the US. "The American Islam is petrified and riddled with superstitions,designed according to American principles and westerners' objectives. "

The Islamic Ummah will have a bright future only if they cling to the monotheist Islam and unity among Muslims and fight the haughty," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

Before the Supreme Leader's speech, President Khatami warned of existing threats against world Muslims, including disunity among their ranks as well as the threats of big powers. "The only way to confront these threats is to stay on the path of enlightenment which Imam Khomeini(the founder of the Islamic revolution) has struck for the world Muslims," he said.
